GOD vs. god

When a person is taught that he or she is god, and they have everything they need already in

them without GOD, what happens when they come to the end of themselves?

What happens when life overwhelms them and they have nowhere to turn?

When they have done all they can do yet find that their problems have surpassed their

solutions?

What happens when you have reached the end of you and all you can do, for you?

You are taught that you are divine, yet if you are truly aware of the spiritual realm, you would realize that there must be something more.

You begin to realize that there must be Something/Someone greater than you. That there is a Being, a God who is infinitely greater than you.

Just look at the intricacies of creation. Is creation the result of a Divine Hand, or a result of happenstance in the universe?

Reflect on and ponder the miraculous greatness of your body, and all of the miraculous processes that function together to keep you alive and thriving. If you examine your fascinating body, you will have to admit that we are not just evolutionary flukes of nature.

We are fearfully and wonderfully made. God created humanity with great reverence and care.

When you truly get in touch with the fact that you are not an accident. That you are a beautifully unique creation of the Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent God, you begin to know in your heart that there is Someone greater. Infinitely greater!

I hope that at some point, you realize that there is a Great Mystery beyond you. That you are a part of SomeOne and something greater than you.

In your painful moments, when the answers to life’s questions seem to evade you, I pray that You Choose God!

If you don’t acknowledge God and the hope that comes from Him, you will begin to wallow in hopelessness.

And hopelessness is a dangerous place to be.

Hopelessness is the first step to feeling that there is no point in living.

A person who is hopeless wants to die.

“Rescue me from the person who tells me of life and omits Christ, who is wise in the ways of the world and ignores the movement of the Spirit… (They) “claim to tell us who we are and omit everything about our origin in God and destiny in God. They talk about the world without telling us that God made it. They tell us about our bodies without telling us that they are temples of the Holy Spirit. They instruct us in love without telling us about the God who loves us and gave Himself for us.” Eugene H. Peterson

From the beginning, we heard the voice of the deceiver, “You won’t die. God knows that the moment you eat from that tree, (your eyes will be opened) and you will see what’s really going on. You’ll be just like God, knowing everything, ranging from good to evil.)”

Genesis 3:3 (MSG version)

What a tragedy to have knowledge yet lack wisdom. To know “just enough,” yet not enough of what really matters.

What a tragedy to believe you are god and forsake a relationship with the Living God.

If you are god, then when you come to the end of you, you are hanging by a thread over the vastness of God’s universe.

But when you walk with the Eternal God, the power that created the universe is just a prayer away.

Having a relationship with God does not remove your problems. It does not remove all

of your pain.

Having a relationship with God is an anchor for your soul.

It is eternal life – beginning now.

And there is an immeasurable difference between life with the GOD of Life and life with the gods of our own creation.
