Loving Yourself

Loving yourself is not about vanity. Vain people usually don’t love themselves, and they make a show of themselves trying to do so.
Loving yourself is not about putting your body on display. People who put themselves on display do so because deep inside they feel invisible, and they just want to be seen – by anyone.
Loving yourself is not screaming your soul-pain so loudly, trying to draw others to you, yet driving them away.
Loving yourself is not giving your body, your temple, to the lowest bidder, because you don’t realize your worth.
Far too often, we see the feeble attempts we make to love ourselves, outside of knowing God, in our selfie-ridden world. In a world that puts all of our pain and struggle on display for the entertainment of others. It is called “reality,” yet it is a mockery of a sweet gift from the One who formed us in our mothers’ wombs. The One who knew us in eternity, before we were formed in the womb.

Loving yourself is truly a Grace, a gift from heaven. It is the knowing deep inside, that you are LOVED BY GOD. You are His Beloved. The Apple of His Eye.
When you KNOW that you are Loved by God,

the One who knows every hair on your head. Every cell in your beautiful body. Every thought you think. Every desire of your heart.
Vanity slips away.
Seductive displays of your body are no longer needed.
The screaming out of your soul to make anyone listen, falls to the wayside.
You no longer need to give your body, soul, and spirit to the lowest bidder, because you know you already belong to the One who passionately pursues you.

When you truly love yourself, you will discover a gentle touch in your spirit, a gentle loving touch from the Lord. A touch that has been nudging you all along.

You begin to tune in, more and more, to the One who reminds you who you really are.
The One who Breathes Life into you.

And Breathes His Love into you.
Day by day. Moment by moment… And all you can finally say is, “I am home.”
